My two component report is going well. I have established a concrete plan for how I want to proceed with finishing it by December 6th. So far everything has been happening on schedule. I have laid out the tasks related to data collection for the beginning of the schedule. So for the first half, I collect all the data I need, then I print the results. In this case, I am collecting data by surveying, questioning, and meeting with fellow student organizations and looking up information about them online. I am also looking at information from books to learn about marketing techniques for the group.
Some groups that I have looked into to dive into their marketing process include groups such as “Deep Breath”, “WSU film and media group”, “Warriors Weekly”, and “Art of Living.” Specifically, the Warriors Weekly is an interesting group because it is a YouTube show, so this allows me to use videos to broaden my audience, so I am looking forward to interacting with them to learn more. As far as the books go, I have been reading “Influence” by Robert Cialdini, and I am thoroughly enjoying it thus far. The book tells readers the main methods of swaying someone’s opinion, or convincing someone to do something. This is especially helpful in the arena of marketing an event or group, because you need to persuade someone to attend the group meeting every single time you hold one. For this, you need their sustained attention. Cialdinis book advocates the following methods to accomplish this
- Social Proof
I will be utilizing these in the future. That is my progress report for now
